  • Sothiod: Aside from the general kinship most people have for their own race, Quo'Tal is royalty. Most of the Sothi know of him, or who he is, or the history of his family and feel that they should treat him as an acquaintance at worst.
  • Ostricus: Sothi sympathizer in Flaerion and member of the Sothi "Glass Path", which transports Sothi slaves to freedom outside of Flaerion.
  • Mother Ulihal: Sothi seer near Flaerion, who also revealed Quo'Tal's relationship to Victor and acted as an adviser.
  • Kaul Aloso: Sothi rebel leader, elevated by Quo'Tal to minor royalty after the Great Battle of Flaerion in which the Sothi and Tarsul faught against a Lizard-Man threat. He used to be part of opposition to Quo'Tal's return to power, but now respects Quo'Tal as a leader. Quo'Tal uses a scribe to keep in touch with Kaul, and also to keep tabs on the strong-willed man.

  • A man's worth is not in his birth or station, but in the fulfillment of his duty and the bond of his word, except me, apparently. I got the f'en Corona Civica but still no recognition from my family, seriously, WTF? It's not funny any more, guys! What do I have to do to get some respect here?

  • Learning my grandfather's secrets is necessary to understand the truth about my family and myself. To this end, I must investigate his past.
  • Septimus Vitus's cult is a poison in the veins of Tarsul. It is my duty to clear it out and investigate their materials to determine the extent of their blight. These materials may also help elucidate Titus' notes.
